At WooRank, we love any online tools that make life easier. Of course, there are a lot of them to choose from, so we asked our team to come up with a list of some of the best! Whether you want easy organizing, better communication, or simpler developing, let us know if you find something you like. Don’t see your favorite? Tell us about it in the comments section!
For List Lovers
TeuxDeux: Need a little help organizing your day? TeuxDeux is a simple, straightforward list and priority application that syncs between a browser and your smartphone, and our Communications Manager Lana can’t get enough. The drag-and-drop function can save sanity on busy days, and it’s user-friendly as can be.

Pocket: If you’re anything like our Operations Manager Sylvain, you probably have more browser tabs open than you know what to do with. Enter Pocket, your online placeholder for everything you plan to look at later. You don’t have to dilute your bookmarks bar with temporarily interesting pages, you can prioritize your list with the stuff you want to look at first, and it gathers posts you save from your browser or mobile apps like Twitter.

Trello: When working on a project with a team or if you have a complicated list of tasks to accomplish, Avik (System Operations) thinks Trello is the tool to use. It allows members to work on an ever-changing, collaborative, virtual white-board with maximum flexibility. The straightforward user interface makes project collaboration easy, and there is a Trello app for iPhone and Android so you can check your progress and collaborate on the go.

Flycut: For those who never have enough space on their digital clipboard, our Content Editor Deanna recommends that you check out Flycut. It’s a clipboard manager app for Mac that remembers up to 40 items last copied to your clipboard. No more copying something then losing it, no more switching back and forth between tabs to copy and paste. Grab everything you want at once, then use it when it’s relevant.

Github: This is the perfect tool for a team of collaborating developers working on a project. Our CTO Nils has found that this versioning web application for projects helps the team to improve on each other’s work (without getting in each other’s way!). Each project is stored as a Master Version. If you want to make a change, simply choose a project and create a branch (sub-version) to tinker with. If everybody likes your improvements, merge them with the Master Version and keep working. Development teamwork, simplified!

Js2Coffee: If you’re currently converting your Javascript to CoffeeScript, Js2coffee might be the best thing that’s ever happened to your code. Our Front-End Developer Sébastien is a big fan of how simple it is, and how much time he saves by using their straightforward conversion interface. It can convert both ways so you can also check your CoffeeScript in Javascript to make sure it’s working the way you want it to.

Hipchat and Cryptochat: For group communication at work, our Web Crawling Wolf Olivier C. has two suggestions for you. Hipchat is a private chat platform that allows you to communicate with colleagues and clients either one-on-one or in a personalized chat room. All communications are encrypted, so they start private and stay private, and everything can be customized. If you need a more secure connection, Cryptochat is a super-encrypted chat platform that allows you to safely communicate private data like passwords and billing information. No matter what you’re chatting about, these platforms have got you covered.

Google Analytics: It goes without saying that anyone working with numbers at WooRank loves Google Analytics, including our Search Engine Optimizer Divi. It’s a way to keep track of statistics about your site; from visitors to popular content to conversion rates, powered by the top website in the world – what could be better? Combine it with Adwords and the Google Keywords Tool and you’ve got a winning combination for success.

BrowserStack: Brandketer Javier also serves as the WooRank product tester, and the tool BrowserStack makes his life that much easier. From his Mac, he’s able to test our tools on any operating system, whether PC or Mac, using any browser that he needs to. There’s no installation and no complicated testing process – just a quick check and one very happy WooRanker.

LayerVault: What Github does for developers, Designer Emile says LayerVault does for designers. It’s the same kind of versioning software, which enables collaboration and constant access to all versions of a project. It allows you to make multiple changes to a project while keeping the original in case a client changes their mind, and keeps designers from stumbling over each other as they work on a project.

FlatUI and Kuler: Ever heard of Bootstrap? It’s a CSS tool from the team at Twitter to make beautifying your website more straightforward. Well, FlatUI is another open-source project that also helps with CSS, but with better functionality and a more modern design, according to Developer Olivier K. You can use it for free, or pay for a premium version with increased features. Combine that with Kuler, a simple tool for creating optimally appealing five part color schemes, and you have the makings of a truly beautiful website.

Skitch: And for those of us who are a little out of our depth with the heavy-duty design tools, the makers of Evernote have provided another option for simpler visual communication. For a quick way to grab screenshots, add marks and make comments, WooRank COO Boris uses Skitch and loves it. It’s easy as pie – no flashy animations or glowy effects. It’s just a simple tool that helps you communicate more effectively with anyone, anywhere.

Duolingo: For a fresh take on online language learning, try Duolingo. Our whole team loves how fun it is to practice skills in any of 6 languages, and how you can earn points for progress while competing against your friends. When you’re a team as multi-national as ours is, improving language skills can only be a plus, both for working and partying together.
